All states in the USA produce pumpkins. However, 62% of the total pumpkin acreage is in only 10 states. The first state for pumpkin for pies and other processed uses is Illinois. Other states are primarily for decorative/carving purposes. Ohio faced a wet spring which made planting a challenge while Pennsylvania farmers report extended periods of hot weather during the summer, which reduced the pollination of pumpkin flowers.
