Drought impacting 66.8% of Mexican Towns.

According to the Agricultural and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP), between January and September 2023, over 502,550.14 hectares of farmland suffered from drought. Only 36,607 hectares were dedicated to irrigated crops, leaving 465,943 hectares reliant on rain-fed farming. Particularly hard-hit are regions like Chihuahua, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Michoacan, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas, where over 70% of the land faces drought conditions.
