More than 80% of the world’s extreme poor live in rural areas — at rates nearly three times higher than among urban residents. “Eradicating rural poverty to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” calls for implementation of inclusive, environmentally sustainable strategies that put the eradication of rural poverty at the center.
