Orange, CA, December 4th — Unicamp (University of Campina) Press has just released the book "New Paradigms for Sustainability and Food Security" – which proposes a broad and in-depth discussion about agricultural production in the face of environmental issues and the climate crisis including Agtools Chapter 5, "Mapping the Path to Agricultural Sustainability: Perspectives on Climate Change, Crop Phenology, and Current Challenges”.
The book launch took place on Monday November 11th, 2025, in Campina Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (Feagri) Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil, printed in Portuguese and with a Spanish version, the publication addresses the agricultural practices of these countries and seeks to show perspectives and trends in the area of sustainability and food security. Campinas (Unicamp) is widely considered a leader, consistently ranking among the top universities in Brazil and Latin America. It is particularly recognized for its research output, with the highest number of patents filed among Brazilian universities and a high volume of published scientific articles.
As the agricultural industry continues to navigate complex market fluctuations and shifting weather patterns, Agtools is proud to participate with these esteem research team and be at the forefront of the science of Phenology and Sustainability.
Organized by professors Luís Augusto Barbosa Cortez, from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (Feagri), and Sergio Luiz Monteiro Salles-Filho, from the Department of Science and Technology Policy (DPCT) of the Institute of Geosciences (IG) at Unicamp, the book was written by members of the Innovagro Network – an international collaboration platform whose main focus is to promote innovation and sustainability in agri-food systems, with collaborators from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and Spain.
