U.S. Bell Peppers volume grew by 12% between 2020 and 2021 for a total of 2.0 billion pounds. This is among the highest growth for Bell Peppers in any period. In 2021, Mexico was the primary supplier, with a 58% volume contribution to the U.S. market, in effect a 13.38% market share growth. The U.S. Bell Pepper per capita consumption has held steady since 2016 at about 11.2 lbs.. Today, Bell Peppers rank #5 on the Top 20 Fruits and Vegetable list of the top consumed produce items in the U.S.
