Peru Case Study - President Fujimori – Stimulates Rapid Agriculture Growth

In the 1990s, Peru’s President Alberto Fujimori brought about a period of dramatic improvement in agriculture productivity in that country by adopting a constitution which ushered in a period of rapid agrarian reform. Through generous tax benefits and accelerated foreign investment in the agrarian sector, Peru’s agriculture sector flourished and the country rapidly became a major exporter of key agricultural products such as grapes and asparagus, and remains an agriculture powerhouse to this day.
