Peru Sample Case

Three-quarters of the Peruvian people work in the agricultural sector. They are especially vulnerable to crop failures caused by drought, storms, and flooding. These extremes of weather are occurring with increasing frequency due to climate change.

Agricultural insurance is available from the Ministry of Agriculture, and 280,000 smallholder farmers have signed up for the program.
