Temperature increases projected for 2090 in viticultural regions

Climate change is driving the Australian wine industry to develop a climate atlas to predict how climate conditions will change in viticultural regions, where precipitation patterns are expected to shift, and temperatures will rise by an average of 1.2°C between 2050 and 1997-2017 and 2.8°C by 2090. This will result in fewer frosts but more heatwaves and droughts, which could lead to a decrease in wine prices in Australia as the composition of grapes changes.
