2 million is the number of farms on the United States in 2022 compared with the 2.20 million in 2007, driven by evolving productivity and shifting labor opportunities. Despite the decline, median household income among farm households ($95,418) exceeds the national average ($74,580), showcasing the resilience of American agriculture. Small family farms have an income of $350,000 in 2022, the majority of their incomes are from off-farm sources, unlike the median household with large-scale farms, with $505,833 in 2022, mostly from farming sources.
